Spring Reminder: Soil/Fill Deliveries – Permits Required
With spring just around the corner, Byram Township reminds all residents and property owners: do not accept deliveries of soil or fill without proper permits or certification of clean fill.
Byram Township’s Soil Importation Ordinance (Chapter 210 – Soil/Fill Placement) ensures that all soil and fill operations are conducted safely, preventing harmful effects to the environment. Learn more here: Chapter 210
Important:
- Do not accept “free” soil or fill offered on Facebook, social media, or elsewhere.
- Only certified clean fill/soil is allowed—and it is never free.
- Accepting uncertified soil puts full responsibility on you and can result in costly removal.
Penalties for noncompliance may seem small, but the expense of removing contaminated soil can be substantial. Protect your property and the environment.
