Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to a robbery and burglary incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a robbery and burglary incident following an investigation.
On March 28th at approximately 5:09 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 300 block of East 35th Street in reference to a robbery. Officers made contact with the victim who advised officers an unknown male entered his vehicle and removed property. The victim chased the suspect, at which time the suspect brandished a knife. Through the course of the investigation officers determined 42-year-old Dante Penn was the suspect.
At approximately 9:05 a.m., officers located Penn in the 2300 block of Northeast Boulevard and took him into custody without incident. Officers recovered a folding knife and property believed to have been stolen from a location in the block.
Penn was transported to the hospital for evaluation, and on March 29, he was taken into custody without incident.
Penn has been charged for the following offenses:
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited
- Burglary (Third Degree)
- Theft Under $1,500
