The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing and endangered individual.
Norman Reed Laugavitz, 75, of Shell Point, was reported missing by family members. He was last seen leaving his home on Shell Park Circle in Shell Point at approximately 3 p.m. on April 1, 2026, in his vehicle.
Laugavitz is driving a 2018 black Nissan Versa bearing a South Carolina license plate PSA851. The vehicle is distinguishable by a white trash bag visible in the rear window.
He is described as:
- 5’6” tall
- Approximately 135 pounds
- Blue eyes
- Gray, shoulder-length hair
- Full beard
He was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and a light-colored shirt.
There is significant concern for his safety due to the onset of dementia, memory loss, and other medical conditions.
