Sutton County to Participate in Statewide Alert & Warning Drill
SONORA, TX — The Sutton County Sheriff’s Office will participate in a coordinated statewide Alert & Warning Drill on April 2, 2026. Residents should expect to receive multiple test alerts on their mobile devices and through local warning systems between the hours of 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM CST.
This exercise is part of a critical statewide effort to ensure that public warning systems are functioning accurately to provide timely communication during disasters and emergencies.
Important Information for Residents:
• No Action Required: These alerts are for testing purposes only; residents do not need to take any action during the drill.
• Stay Informed: To receive ongoing local updates, emergency alerts, and non-emergency notifications directly from Sutton County, residents are encouraged to sign up for the "Text My Gov" service.
• How to Register: Simply text the keyword "SUTTON COUNTY SO" to the short code 80946.
