ASHLAND: Controlled Burning Above Lithia Park, Along East Main Street and in Strawberry Hald Park
ASHLAND: Today, Thursday, April 2nd, there will be several controlled burns to reduce wildfire hazards in key areas around Ashland including upper Granite Street and Willow Wind School near East Main and Walker Avenue and in Strawberry Hald Park. Weather conditions have created an opportunity to burn piles of fuel in the lower Ashland Watershed in areas surrounding the swimming reservoir at the end of Granite Street south of Lithia Park. A second controlled burn will also be managed near Willow Wind School along East Main street to remove excessive fuel and reduce wildfire risk. A third controlled burn will be conducted by Ashland Parks and Recreation along Lisa Lane and Liberty Street in Strawberry Hald Park.
