Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to a robbery incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a robbery incident following an investigation.
On March 22nd at approximately 5:48 p.m., police were called about a carjacking incident that had occurred in the 4000 block of Miller Road.
On March 23rd, officers located the stolen vehicle and attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, at which time the vehicle fled the area. A short time later, the vehicle was located unoccupied in the 800 block of North Shipley Street.
The case was assigned to Detective Michael Chambers of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Chambers identified 26-year-old Jamal Whittlesey as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On March 31st at approximately 10:30 a.m., Probation and Parole Officers located Whittlesey, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Whittlesey has been charged with the following offenses:
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
