INCIDENT: PC246.3(A) - Negligent discharge of a firearm
LOCATION: Palmdale Road / Wilson Ranch Road, Phelan
SUSPECT: Jesus Lopez, 49 years old, Resident of Phelan
Jesus Lopez, 25 years old, Resident of Apple Valley
Giovanni Gonzalez, 28 years old, Resident of Phelan
SUMMARY: On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 8:06 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Palmdale Road and Wilson Ranch Road in Phelan following reports of shots heard.
Upon arrival, deputies conducted an area check with the assistance of Sheriff’s Aviation (40K). During the search, deputies located multiple individuals inside a fenced property near the reported location. When deputies attempted to make contact, the individuals fled further into the property.
After several announcements were made by 40K, deputies entered the property and detained three individuals identified as Jesus Lopez, Jesus Lopez, and Giovanni Gonzalez.
During a search of the property, deputies located an unserialized assault rifle and multiple fired cartridge casings.
All three suspects were arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for booking.
