Spring Cleaning Time! :)
Dumpsters located behind City Hall. Will accept anything you would "normally throw away", plus even certain appliances (as long as no freon in refrigerators for instance), old lawn mowers are ok, (if no oil or gas), no yard waste like grass or limbs/leaves, no electronics, no chemicals, no paint. No contruction materials, but any METALS are acceptable for disposal.
Virtually all is going into the landfill, so restricted items you would not throw away at home, PLEASE do not put in the dumpsters tomorrow. For heavy items, the City will have a front end loader to assist.
Make sure you bring your I.D.'s or other identification showing you to be a resident of the city. Trash content will be monitored to ensure compliance with disposal of "proper/legal things", so please take care in that respect. Any restricted items mentioned attempted to be thrown away, will be required to go home with you.
Lastly, please look out for your neighbors too. Some of our citizens are age/health burdened or mobility restricted. What sets Merriam Woods apart from other communities, is we look out for each other. The best part, while we help each other, our community get cleaner too.
Disposal dropoffs behind city hall start at 7am tomorrow, and ends no later than 3pm. Afterwards, dumpsters will be locked behind security fencing for Monday disposal.
