1. Train vs Pedestrian (1740) Hammer Lane and Lorraine Avenue, Valley Oak District
Officers responded to the railroad tracks in the listed area and located a male subject, 24, who had been struck by a train. The subject was transported to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
2. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2110) 1400 Block of Venice Circle, Seaport District
The male victim, 33, was at an area residence when he got into an argument with the known suspect. The suspect retrieved a firearm, pointed it at the victim, and then fired one round into the ground. The victim fled. Officers arrested the suspect without incident. ARRESTED: Joel Cortez, 44, for ADW, child abuse, and weapon charges.
3. Weapon Arrest (2200) 8000 Block of West Lane, Valley Oak District
Officers conducted a proactive traffic enforcement stop in the listed area. Officers contacted the occupants, searched the car, and found a loaded firearm. Both occupants were taken into custody without incident. ARRESTED: Myron Tate, 45, for weapon charges and Roosevelt Martin, 45, for an outstanding warrant.
