Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges following a vehicle stop.
On April 2nd at approximately 7:59 p.m., a member of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop in the area of East 23rd and Carter Streets. The officer made contact with the driver 18-year-old Ze’vion Ward and took him into custody without incident. The officer recovered a loaded .9mm handgun equipped with a switch capable of converting the firearm into a fully automatic weapon.
Ward has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic citations:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Destructive Weapon
- Possession of an Untraceable Firearm
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released pending further proceedings.
