LOCATION: Intersection of Foothill Blvd. / Cherry Ave, City of Fontana
SUSPECT: Daveyon Gibbs, 22-years-old, Resident of Fontana
SUSPECT VEHICLE: 2013, White, Kawasaki motorcycle
VICTIM: State of California
SUMMARY: A 22-year-old man, identified as Daveyon Gibbs, was arrested in connection with evading a Fontana Sheriff’s deputy and causing a traffic collision on April 5, 2026, at approximately 4:39 p.m., near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Cherry Avenue in the city of Fontana.
The involved deputy observed Gibbs operating a motorcycle in the area and committing multiple vehicle code violations. When the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Gibbs accelerated and fled. During the short pursuit, a collision occurred involving the deputy’s patrol vehicle and an uninvolved motorist. The deputy and two occupants of the other vehicle were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. All parties were treated and released. Gibbs was not arrested at the scene.
During the subsequent investigation, a search warrant was served at Gibbs’ residence, where investigators located evidence related to the pursuit, including the motorcycle involved. Gibbs was later taken into custody without incident and booked at the West Valley Detention Center.
Investigators believe Gibbs may be involved in additional incidents involving law enforcement. A photograph of Gibbs and the motorcycle is being released in an effort to identify any further related cases. This investigation remains ongoing.
