Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the hours below due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, April 15, 2026
• West Kinney Street between Irvine Turner Blvd. and Sayer Street
• Boyd Street between 17th Avenue and West Kinney Street
• Livingston Street between Springfield Avenue and West Kinney Street
• Channeyfield Way between Branch Court and West Kinney Street
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at West Kinney Street and Boyd Street.
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
