Ocean Township Residents,
We are pleased to announce the applications for the Ocean Township Junior Police Academy are now available on the township website.
The Junior Police Academy is a great way for kids in the community to connect with our Officers and learn what it takes to be a first responder on many different levels.
This year the recruits will be given presentations by several units from not only our department, but also the Ocean County Sheriff's Deptartment, The State Department of Corrections, The United States Coast Guard, The New Jersey State Police Marine Unit, The Ocean County SWAT team, The Waretown Fire Department, and The Waretown First Aid Squad.
The academy will run from July 6th through the 10th starting at 8am and dismissal will be 4pm each day. Applications must be submitted in person no later than May 1st with full payment by check (cost $100.00 per child) at that time. Please make checks payable to "Township of Ocean" with "Junior Police Academy written in the memo portion. For a child to be eligible they must be CURRENTLY enrolled in the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade at the time the application is submitted, and, be a current resident of Ocean Township. After the first 50 applications are received, any additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
