The NC statewide and Buncombe County burning ban is still in effect. These include outdoor recreational fire and are due to extremely dry conditions along with daily low humidity and usually wind. This has been announced across social media, various alert systems, radio, and local news outlets. If a ban was not in place anyone wishing to burn is required to obtain a free burning permit from the NC Forest Service.
