Wilmington Police have made an arrest in connection with a March 10 shooting incident.
 
On March 10 at approximately 5:40 p.m., police responded to the 800 block of West 6th Street in reference to a shooting incident that had occurred. Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old female gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
 
The case was assigned to Detective Avery Stewart of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Stewart identified a 16-year-old male as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest. The suspect was located on April 1 in the area of 5^th and Madison Streets, and was taken into custody without incident.
 
The 16-year-old male, who resides in Newark and was also wanted on an unrelated matter out of another jurisdiction, has been charged with the following offenses:

• Assault (First Degree)
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
• Discharging a Firearm on a City Street

The juvenile was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $139,000 cash-only bail.
