Half Marathon — Deal & Village Loch Arbour, NJ
The Boroughs of Deal Police Department announce that a Half Marathon event will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM. In order to ensure the safety of all participants and the public, temporary road closures will be in effect along Ocean Avenue in both municipalities during this time.
Road Closure Details
The following road closures will be in effect from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM:
• Loch Arbour: All of Ocean Avenue within the Village of Loch Arbour will be closed in both directions.
• Deal: Ocean Avenue in the Borough of Deal from Neptune Avenue to
Lawrence Avenue will be closed in both directions.
Alternate Routes
Residents and motorists are strongly encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and use the following alternate routes during the closure period:
• Norwood Avenue: parallel to Ocean Avenue and accessible throughout the event.
• Roseld Avenue / Brighton Avenue: recommended for north–south travel through the affected area.
• Route 71 (Norwood Ave) provides a reliable detour for through traffic traveling along the shore corridor.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow all posted detour signs and directions from law enforcement personnel on scene.
Resident Access
Residents with properties directly along the closed sections of Ocean Avenue should contact local police for assistance with access during the event.
Local emergency services will maintain full access throughout the closure.
