Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on 04/11/2026 at approximately 1150 hours, Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Huntly Rd. and Lake Shore Dr. in Howard Twp., Cass County, Michigan.
The investigation shows that Gayla Fraser, (76 yrs old of Niles, MI) was travelling west bound on Lake Shore Dr. attempting to cross the intersection at Huntly Rd. Fraser failed to yield the right away to oncoming south bound traffic colliding with a vehicle driven by Valarie Greer, (63 yrs old of Niles, MI) and causing the crash.
Valarie was transported to Lakeland Hospital in Niles for injuries sustained in the crash.
Assisting agencies in the crash were Howard Twp. Fire and SMCAS Ambulance services.
This crash remains under further investigation.
