Deputy Tre Spearman with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 38-year-old James Thomas Vallini II of Marion with felony Possession of Fentanyl and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was initially denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release.
On April 7, Deputy Spearman initiated a stop on a vehicle on Rutherford Rd. for a traffic violation.
A subsequent search of the vehicle, with the assistance of Marion Police Department, turned up a suspected amount of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.
