Reminder: Trail Closure – Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail Bridge (Ongoing) 
This is a reminder that the bridge on the Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail near Lakeland Community Center is closed for emergency replacement, effective April 16, 2026.
The closure is expected to last up to six weeks. Detour signs are posted throughout the area to assist trail users. While some sections of the trail remain open, access across the bridge is not available.
This closure impacts a heavily used section of the trail serving College Park, University of Maryland, Riverdale Park, and visitors to Lake Artemesia. Trail users are encouraged to plan ahead and follow the approved detour routes.
