OPD NEWS:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD), in coordination with federal and local law enforcement partners, executed a search warrant at a suspected illegal gambling operation on April 9, 2026, in the 1400 block of 17th Avenue.
The investigation began following a recent shooting, ongoing neighborhood complaints, and a history of violence at the location.
During the operation, officers detained ten individuals and arrested three on outstanding felony warrants. Investigators recovered narcotics, a firearm, cash, and gambling equipment.
This operation highlights the diligent efforts of OPD officers to address crime and enhance community safety. OPD would like to thank community members for reporting illegal activities and encourage residents to continue reporting illegal gambling or other dangerous activities to help keep neighborhoods safe.
