LOCATION: Yucaipa Blvd / Yucaipa Valley Cir, Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): 17-year-old Male, Resident of Yucaipa
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, April 13, 2026, at approximately 4:14 p.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Police Department Traffic Enforcement Division initiated a traffic stop on a black and gold Surron electric motorcycle. Deputies observed the subject traveling eastbound on Yucaipa Blvd., while riding with the front wheel of the motorcycle off the ground in a reckless manner.
The suspect, later identified as a 17-year-old male, failed to yield, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit, the suspect showed disregard for public safety and human life by continually riding with the front wheel off the ground and failing to stop for numerous stop signs. A Sheriff’s helicopter responded and maintained aerial surveillance of the suspect, while deputies on the ground discontinued the pursuit in the interest of public safety.
The suspect went off-road and hid in a canyon surrounded by thick brush and trees. The Sheriff's helicopter maintained visual observation of the suspect and guided deputies, who were on foot to his location. The male was contacted by deputies and arrested for felony evading. The male suspect was medically evaluated and later booked into San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall.
