The male victim, 51, was in the area when he heard a gunshot and realized he had been shot. The victim was transported to an area hospital to treat his non-life-threatening gunshot wound. There is no suspect information.
2. Weapon Arrest (2020) 3000 Block of East Martin Luther King Boulevard, Park District
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the listed area. While searching the vehicle, officers found a loaded firearm. ARRESTED: Ollie Rushing, 71, for weapon charges.
3. Attempted Carjacking (0000) 1900 Block of South El Dorado Street, Seaport District
The male victim, 46, was at an area gas station when the suspects approached, brandished a knife, and took his property. The suspects then attempted to steal the victim’s vehicle but were unsuccessful. SUSPECTS: Three Black male adults.
4. Weapons Arrests (0040) 1300 Block of South Van Buren Street, Seaport District
Officers contacted a group of individuals in the listed area and observed a loaded firearm. Officers detained the suspects and located 3 additional loaded firearms. ARRESTED: Michael Zapata, 20, Andrew Madrid, 22, Gabriel Escarpita, 23, and Nathaniel Sambrano, 19, for weapon charges and gang enhancements.
