2026 GTPD Junior Police Academy- Registration Opens May 1st!

REGISTRATION OPENS IN TWO WEEKS! Gloucester Township Police Junior Police Academy 2026!

The Annual Gloucester Township Police Junior Police Academy runs for four weeks beginning in late July, with two Basic and two Advanced classes at different age brackets. Registration for the 2026 classes will begin, Friday May 1, 2026. Cost is $150 for residents, $175 for non-residents. The juveniles are considered cadets and are given a uniform to wear every day. The Junior Police Academy consists of physical training, lectures, presentations, hands on activities and a field trip. The Junior Police Academy culminates with a graduation for each class. The Junior Cadets learn how to march and work together as squads. Cadets learn the importance of being physically fit, staying drug free, teamwork and respect. 

During the GTPD Junior Police Academy the participants in this program assume the role of cadets and will be outfitted with a uniform to be worn throughout the academy.

The curriculum encompasses a variety of activities including physical training, lectures, presentations, hands-on exercises, and a designated field trip. The program will conclude with a formal graduation ceremony for each class. Throughout the academy, junior cadets will be instructed in various skills, including marching techniques and collaborative teamwork. Additionally, cadets will receive instruction on the significance of maintaining physical fitness, living a drug-free lifestyle, fostering teamwork, and demonstrating respect for others.

Basic Class #47 (for ages 10-12) July 20th – July 24th

Advanced Class #48 (for ages 10-12) July 27th – July 31st

Basic Class #49 (for ages 13-15) August 3rd - August 7th

Advanced Class #50 (for ages 13-15) August 10th – August 14th
