SVRSGF The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 615 PM CDT.

* At 535 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Columbus, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Baxter Springs, Columbus, Galena, Lowell, Treece, Neutral, Melrose, Riverton, Lawton, Skidmore, Hallowell, Sherwin, Faulkner, Crestline, and Stippville. This includes Interstate 44 near mile marker 0.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CHEROKEE, KS

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for southeastern Kansas.
