Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Conducting DUI Patrols

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety will be conducting DUI enforcement patrols on April 20, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., actively looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence (DUI).

“Impaired driving is preventable,” Sergeant Keaney said. “It’s a choice. If you’ve been drinking or taken drugs that impair, make the right choice by finding a sober driver or alternate transportation to take you places.”

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety reminds the public that impairment is not limited to alcohol. Certain prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs can affect driving ability. Drivers should always read warning labels and follow directions for use regarding operating a vehicle. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal in California, it is illegal to drive under the influence of marijuana or any impairing substance.

Officers maintain a year-round commitment to identifying and removing impaired drivers from the roadway. In recognition of the upcoming 4/20 weekend, enforcement efforts will be increased through targeted DUI patrols and proactive traffic safety operations. This heightened enforcement comes as our community continues to recover from a recent serious DUI-related collision involving juvenile victims, underscoring the very real and lasting consequences of impaired driving.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety remains focused on prevention, education, and enforcement to ensure all members of the community return home safely.

Drivers convicted of a first-time DUI offense face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with a suspended driver’s license.
