Incident #: 2026-5312 – Criminal Mischief
Date/Time: March 2, 2026 at 9:02 p.m.
Location: Jeffrey Lane / Quaker Road
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Daniel Borup #115

Details:  Ptl. Borup responded to Police Headquarters for a report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that earlier in the afternoon while driving on Jeffrey Lane near the intersection with Quaker Road, he passed a male and female walking along the roadway. As he drove by, he heard a loud noise and later observed that the passenger-side mirror of his vehicle had been shattered. The victim believed the male may have struck or thrown an object at the vehicle as it passed. The suspect was described only as a white male who was accompanied by a white female. The incident remains under investigation.


Incident #: 2026-5605 – Shoplifting
Date/Time: March 5, 2026 at 5:44 p.m.
Location: Target - 500 Nassau Park Blvd.

Suspect:
Black female wearing gray shoes, gray sweatpants, and a long black jacket with long braids.

Details:  Ptl. Christian responded to Target for a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. Store staff reported that a female suspect selected merchandise throughout the store and proceeded past the points of sale without paying for several items. Loss prevention personnel were able to recover merchandise valued at approximately $134; however, the suspect exited the store with additional unpaid items. The suspect fled the area in a Hyundai Santa Fe with two other females. The incident remains under investigation


Incident #: 2026-6047 – Lewdness / Endangering the Welfare of a Minor
Date/Time: March 9, 2026 at 6:24 p.m.
Location: Panera Bread – 510 Nassau Park Blvd

Arrested: Brian M. McKenzie - 41yo male out of Hamilton, NJ

Details:  Ptl. Christian responded to Panera Bread for a report of a male exposing himself to two female patrons inside the restaurant. The victims reported that the male sat at a nearby table and began rubbing his genitals over his clothing while looking toward them. They then observed the male expose himself and continue the behavior while seated facing them. The victims recorded portions of the incident on their phones before notifying staff, at which time the male left the restaurant through the rear exit. Through investigative means, the accused was identified as Brian M. McKenzie of Hamilton. McKenzie was charged with Lewdness and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  McKenzie was later arrested at his home. 


Incident #: 2026-6202 - DWI
Date/Time: March 11, 2026 at 9:02 a.m.
Location: Bear Brook Rd. and Greylynne Dr.

Accused: Johann Mejia Arboleda – 33yo male out of Elizabeth, NJ

Details:  Officers responded to the intersection of Bear Brook Rd. and Greylynne Dr. for the report of an unresponsive male driver in a white box truck stopped in the lane of travel. Upon arrival, officers located Johann Mejia Arboleda in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, breathing but initially unresponsive. A passing motorist had attempted to wake Arboleda for approximately twenty minutes prior to police arrival. After being awakened, Arboleda appeared confused and exhibited slurred speech, droopy and watery eyes, and difficulty maintaining his balance. Arboleda stated he had been working overnight and fell asleep while waiting for a dispatcher’s call. Arboleda was evaluated by EMS on scene and declined further medical treatment. Based on officers’ observations, Arboleda agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed, and he was placed under arrest for DWI. During a search incident to arrest, officers located multiple wax folds suspected to contain CDS in his pocket. A subsequent search of his backpack inside the vehicle resulted in the recovery of suspected drug paraphernalia including glass pipes and other items associated with CDS use. The vehicle was impounded. Arboleda was charged with Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on complaint summonses. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for Operating Under the Influence of Drugs, Operation of a Motor Vehicle While in Possession of CDS, Reckless Driving, and Obstructing the Passage of Other Vehicles. He was released pending court appearances.


 

Incident #: 2026-6328 – Shoplifting
Date/Time: March 12, 2026 at 3:02 p.m.
Location: Target - 500 Nassau Park Blvd.
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Daniel Borup #115

Accused: Daniel P. Haney – 49yo male out of Hamilton, NJ

Details:  Ptl. Borup responded to Target for a report of a shoplifting in progress. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. An investigation revealed the suspect selected a stroller wagon valued at $659.99 and altered price tags by placing lower-priced labels over the original barcode. The suspect then proceeded to the self-checkout, scanning unrelated lower-priced items before attempting to leave the store. When confronted by loss prevention, the suspect abandoned the merchandise and fled the store. Through investigative means, the suspect was identified as Daniel P. Haney. He was subsequently charged with shoplifting and issued a summons with a mandatory court appearance.


 

Incident #: 2026-6464 - Service of Warrant
Date/Time: March 13, 2026, at 9:36 PM
Location: US Route 1 near Alexander Rd.
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Roberto Christian #128

Arrested: Lucenny T. Martemercado - 35yo female out of Passaic, NJ

Details: While on patrol in the area of US Route 1 near Alexander Rd., Ptl. R. Christian #128 observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and conducted a motor vehicle stop. During the stop, the driver was identified as Lucenny T. Martemercado. A records check revealed Martemercado had a suspended driver’s license and two outstanding warrants from Branchburg Township and Saddle Brook. Martemercado was placed under arrest on the warrants with assistance from Ptl. Z. Demetro #123. Her vehicle was impounded from the scene. Both agencies authorized Martemercado’s release on her own recognizance. She was issued motor vehicle summonses and released pending future court appearances.



Incident #: 2026-6503 – Motor Vehicle Theft
Date/Time: March 14, 2026 at 10:20 a.m.
Location: Residence on Winterberry Way
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Daniel Brodowski #129

Details: Ptl. Brodowski responded to the Winterberry Way area for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim reported that her gray 2019 Kia Forte had been parked in the parking area near the 13,000 building at approximately 9:30 p.m. on March 13, 2026. When she returned to the area at approximately 10:11 a.m. the following morning, the vehicle was no longer present. The victim advised the vehicle had been locked and both keys were accounted for. The vehicle had previously been located stolen and abandoned in South Brunswick Township earlier that morning. The incident remains under investigation.


Incident #: 2026-6511 – Motor Vehicle Theft
Date/Time: March 14, 2026 at 12:45 p.m.
Location: Residence on Goldfinch Boulevard
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Brandon Heath #103

Details: Ptl. Heath responded to the Goldfinch Boulevard area for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim reported that his silver Lexus had been parked in front of the 3000 building at approximately 6:00 p.m. on March 13, 2026. When he returned to the area at approximately 12:30 p.m. the following day, the vehicle was missing. The victim was able to track the vehicle through a mobile application, which indicated it was located in Ewing Township. Officers notified the Ewing Township Police Department, who located and secured the vehicle. Detectives later responded and had the vehicle towed for evidence processing. The investigation remains ongoing.

 

Incident #: 2026-6591 – Shoplifting
Date/Time: March 15, 2026 at 5:07 p.m.
Location: Target - 500 Nassau Park Blvd.
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Nicholas Cassar #122

Accused: Kevin Hoffner – 42yo male out of Bristol, PA

Details: Ptl. Cassar responded to Target for a report of shoplifting. Investigation revealed an unidentified male concealed merchandise and exited the store without payment, resulting in a loss of approximately $214. The suspect fled the area in a Ford truck displaying a stolen license plate. Further investigation determined the vehicle itself had also been reported stolen out of Pennsylvania. Through investigative means, the suspect was identified as Kevin Hoffner after he was taken into custody by Bucks County Sheriff’s Officers in connection with separate incidents involving the stolen vehicle. Hoffner was subsequently charged on a warrant with shoplifting, receiving stolen property, and receiving a stolen motor vehicle. He remains lodged in Pennsylvania pending extradition.


 
Incident #: 2026-6684 – Shoplifting
Date/Time: March 16, 2026 at 5:36 p.m.
Location: Target - 500 Nassau Park Blvd.

Arrested: Justin J. Scharnitz – 19yo male  out of Hamilton, NJ

Details: Ptl. Carmignani responded to Target for a report of shoplifting. Store loss prevention personnel detained Justin J. Scharnitz after observing him remove a price label from a lower-cost item and place it over the label of a Lego set valued at $159.99. Scharnitz then proceeded to the self-checkout and scanned the item at the altered price before exiting the store without paying the full amount, resulting in a loss of approximately $155. Scharnitz was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was issued a summons for shoplifting and released pending a future court appearance. Target also issued Scharnitz a one-year trespass notice.

 

 

Incident #: 2026-7204 – Drug Possession / Paraphernalia
Date/Time: March 22, 2026 at 2:32 p.m.
Location: Wegmans - 240 Nassau Park Boulevard

Arrested: Megan E. Wojtowicz – 35yo female out of Levittown, PA

Details: Ptl. R. Christian #128 was notified of two individuals sleeping inside a parked vehicle in the lot in front of Wegman’s. Upon locating the vehicle, he observed a male and female inside who appeared unconscious. After attempting to wake them, EMS was requested. Upon further observation, drug paraphernalia was seen in plain view inside the vehicle, including tin foil and a lighter on the female’s lap. Ptl. Fattibene arrived on scene and identified the female as Megan Wojtowicz. Additional paraphernalia was observed throughout the vehicle, including a straw, burnt foil, and a copper scrubber commonly used for ingesting narcotics. Wojtowicz admitted to prior drug use and stated there may be methamphetamine inside her bag. Through investigative means, a search of the vehicle was conducted, which resulted in the recovery of suspected CDS, including heroin and methamphetamine, along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia. Wojtowicz was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where she was processed. She was charged with Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was released on a summons pending a future court date.



Incident #: 2026-7225 – Shoplifting
Date/Time: March 22, 2026 at 11:10 p.m.
Location: Larry’s Sunoco - 3729 US Route 1
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Clayton Siani #117

Suspects:
Black male wearing black pants, black t-shirt, black jacket with hood, and black face mask
Accompanied by one black male and one black female

Details: Patrol responded to Larry’s Sunoco for a reported shoplifting. Upon arrival, officers met with the store clerk, who reported that two males and one female entered the store. One male and the female selected items and paid at the register, while the second male selected merchandise and exited the store without paying. The suspect was last seen entering a white Honda Accord bearing New York registration and fleeing southbound on US Route 1. A check of the area for the vehicle yielded negative results. The stolen items included a toothbrush, sour straw candy, and additional items.
