  Clay County in west central Missouri...
  Southwestern Ray County in west central Missouri...
  Southeastern Platte County in west central Missouri...
  Central Jackson County in west central Missouri...

* Until 530 PM CDT.

* At 444 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Kansas City
  Kansas, moving northeast at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 0 and 29.
 Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 410 and 423.
 Interstate 35 in Missouri between mile markers 0 and 26.
 Interstate 35 in Kansas between mile markers 225 and 235.
 Interstate 29 between mile markers 0 and 7.
 Interstate 635 between mile markers 0 and 12.
 Interstate 470 between mile markers 12 and 16.
 Interstate 435 between mile markers 3 and 16, and between mile
markers 45 and 68.
 Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 218 and 226.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for northeastern
and east central Kansas...and west central Missouri.

The Oak Grove Schools Severe Weather Safe Room is now open for possible severe weather. It is located on the south side of Oak Grove High School Performing Arts Center at 605 Southeast 12th Street. Please do not wait until the last minute to go to the shelter. Waiting until a warning is issued is often too late. Sorry, pets are not allowed inside the Performing Arts Center. Food and drink other than baby formula, and use of tobacco products is also prohibited. The Safe Room entrance is on the southwest corner of the High School building and can be reached from SE 12th Street, SE 16th Street east from Broadway, or SE 14th Street east from SE Salem Street.
