Step Forward for Hope and Join LASD’s Better Together 3rd Annual Suicide Prevention 5K Run/Walk with Sheriff Luna

Who: Sheriff Robert G. Luna, Master of Ceremonies-NBC4 Reporter Annabelle Sedano, Director of Psychological Services Bureau-Dr. Stephen W. Seetal, Countywide Services Division-Chief Jason P. Wolak, Chaplain Richard Gillett and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department invite all runners and walkers to join our 3rd Annual Suicide Awareness & Prevention 5K Run/Walk, Better Together event.
What: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department invites community members, families, and supporters to lace up your running or walking shoes to stand together for a powerful cause-raising awareness for suicide prevention and supporting mental health wellness at the 3rd Annual Suicide Awareness & Prevention 5K Run/Walk, Better Together event.
In 2025, 59 law enforcement officer suicides were reported nationwide which reflects the critical need for strong, sustained mental health support within the profession. Law enforcement personnel routinely face trauma, loss, and high-stress situations that can take a lasting toll. In response, the Department has expanded and strengthened its wellness programs and initiatives to better support its personnel. This annual event is a key part of that effort which helps to break the stigma surrounding mental health, encourage open and honest conversations, and connect individuals with vital resources and support.
This special event is open to the public and brings our law enforcement community together in the spirit of wellness, connection, and support. Come join us for a morning of movement at this family fun event with food, music, magicians, face painting, vendors, merchandise, and more.
Chief Wolak will also proudly present the winner of the 2026 Wellness Championship Belt during this event.

Note: Registration /Check- In Begins at 6:00 A.M.
Run/Walk Starts at 8:30 A.M.
Additional Information:
- Registration Fee for the 5K Run/Walk is $45.00 and it includes a T-Shirt, “finisher medal”, and a meal ticket.
- Participation in the supporting events is free, and no registration is required to attend.
