Increased Fire Danger - Monday, April 20, 2026
PER NWS: Combination of low relative humidity values, dry fuels, and gusty northwest winds will result in an increased risk for the rapid spread of wildfires across much of central and eastern Virginia this afternoon. Prince George County is also under a drought warning advisory, meaning the risk of wildfire is high. With these conditions, it’s especially important to follow Virginia’s statewide burn law (in effect Feb 15–Apr 30). Consider skipping burning altogether right now, mulching or hauling debris is safer during drought conditions.
