4/16 – 12:15 p.m. – Police were called to the Dollar General, on West Washington Street, for a retail theft that had occurred a short time prior. Through an investigation, the suspect was identified, as well as discovering where he works. That afternoon, police took the suspect into custody at his place of employment and transported him to the county jail. A report was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. The following day the defendant, Justin N. Jones age 45 of Cahokia Heights, was charged by the state’s attorney’s office with Retail Theft; a Class A Misdemeanor.
