| Narrative: | |||||
| During the month of January 2026, Moorpark patrol deputies responded to a call of two juveniles overdosing on marijuana edibles. A report was taken and the case was handed over to the Moorpark Investigations Unit. Investigators identified a male juvenile, who resides in the city of Moorpark, as the individual responsible for the sale of the marijuana edibles. It was discovered the male juvenile primarily used social media platforms to facilitate the sale of marijuana products to other juveniles. VC FOCUS detectives were contacted regarding the case and assisted in the investigation. On 04/16/2026, detectives with VC FOCUS and the Moorpark Investigations Unit served a search warrant at the juvenile suspect’s residence and located evidence of drug sales, including drug packaging materials, marijuana products, a large amount of United States currency suspected of being proceeds from the illicit sales of marijuana products, and a loaded handgun with an extended magazine. The handgun was determined to be stolen and Moorpark detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation regarding the stolen firearm. The juvenile was subsequently arrested for the crime of HS 11361(b) – Marijuana Sales to a Minor and HS 11375(b)(1) – Sale of a Designated Controlled Substance. Child Protective Services (CPS) was notified of the circumstances in this case and of the juvenile’s arrest.
