Four Arrested in Carjacking and Robbery Spree
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a series of armed robberies that occurred just before 12:15 a.m. on April 20, 2026, in East Oakland.
While on patrol, officers located a vehicle that was later confirmed to have been taken in a recent armed carjacking. When officers attempted an enforcement stop, the vehicle failed to yield.
Officers later located the vehicle in the area of Kingsland Place and Morcom Avenue, where multiple juveniles exited and ran. After a brief foot pursuit, officers took four juveniles into custody, two from Oakland, one from Hayward, and one from Richmond.
During the arrests, officers recovered two loaded, unregistered firearms. Both firearms had devices that converted them into fully automatic weapons.
A preliminary investigation links the four juveniles to multiple crimes that took place in East Oakland between 9:45 p.m. on April 19 and 12:15 a.m. on April 20. The crimes included armed robberies and a pistol-whipping incident.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Oakland Police Robbery Unit at (510) 238-3326. Additionally, anyone with videos or photos that may assist the investigation is encouraged to send them to [email protected].
