Animal Control: Loose Dogs
STAY DOGS IN KING COVE.
KCDPS has been receiving daily reports regarding dogs roaming freely in and around
the New Rams subdivision, the Rams Creek area, the marsh area behind the City Shop,
and the dump area. As Chief, I have also observed this issue near my duplex.
KCDPS would like to remind all pet owners of their responsibility to ensure that pets are
properly cared for and do not pose a risk to other animals, children, or residents. As
favorable weather returns to King Cove and with the school year soon concluding, it is
important that all residents feel safe while participating in outdoor activities. There have
been additional reports of dogs engaging in aggressive behavior and defecating on
other residents’ properties. Such actions must cease to ensure fairness and safety for
everyone in the community.
King Cove maintains a city ordinance requiring that dogs be leashed. KCDPS requests
that all dogs be securely contained within their owner’s yards or restrained with a rope
or chain to prevent them from wandering into neighboring areas.
The attached photographs were taken this morning in the New Rams area and near the
Net Loft/Crane Dock. If you recognize these animals, please inform the owners of this
information, or if the pet is yours, please comply with this request.
Please note non-compliance with these regulations may result in the animal being
seized and potentially euthanized. KCDPS urges all pet owners to cooperate to help
resolve this issue and ensure the safety of all residents.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
