Suspect Arrested After Stealing City Vehicle, Nearly Striking Victim in Adelanto

PC245(A)(1): Assault with a deadly weapon
PC496(A): Possession of stolen property
LOCATION: 10000 block of Rancho Road, Adelanto
SUSPECT: Jordan Honeycutt, 37-years-old, Resident of Fullerton
VICTIM 1: City of Adelanto
VICTIM 2: City Worker
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 10:13 a.m., deputies responded to the 10000 block of Rancho Road in Adelanto regarding a reported vehicle theft.
Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim, who reported that an individual, later identified as Jordan Honeycutt, approached him under the pretense of asking a question. The suspect then entered a City of Adelanto Public Works vehicle, with the engine running, and fled the scene. As the suspect fled the scene, the victim was nearly struck by the vehicle.
With the assistance of Sheriff’s Aviation (40K), deputies located the stolen vehicle near Hwy 395 and Mojave Road in Adelanto. Honeycutt was detained and later arrested.
Honeycutt was transported to the High Desert Center and booked on the following charges: VC10851(A), PC245(A)(1), PC496(A).
