Three (3) Arrested and 17 Citations Issued at the Redwood City DUI Checkpoint
Redwood City, California – On 4/18/2026, and 4/19/2026 there were three (3) people arrested for DUI’s at the DUI checkpoints.
The DUI checkpoints were held at Woodside Rd near Alameda De Las Pulgas from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and El Camino Real at Hopkins Ave from 11:30 p.m. to 02:00 a.m.
Eight (8) drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, eight (8) other drivers were cited for various moving violations, and one intoxicated passenger was arrested for allowing their unlicensed child to drive them home. There were three (3) drivers evaluated for D.U.I, resulting in all three being arrested. There were approximately 600 vehicles were contacted/screened.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of the DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
