At 1130 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Cherokee, or 7 miles south of Girard, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Pittsburg, Prairie State Park, Frontenac, Girard, Arma, Cherokee, Weir, Mulberry, Scammon, Chicopee, Nashville, Mindenmines, Franklin, Asbury, West Mineral, Roseland, Burgess, Beulah, Opolis, and Croweburg.
