Special Weather Statement until 12:30AM Friday

At 1156 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles north of Liberal to 7 miles east of Mindenmines to near Galena to near Wyandotte. Movement was east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Joplin, Carthage, Neosho, Webb City, Prairie State Park, Carl Junction, Lamar, Baxter Springs, Galena, Oronogo, Seneca, Granby, Carterville, Duquesne, Sarcoxie, Duenweg, Jasper, Diamond, Golden City, and Liberal. This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 0 and 31.
