SBPD Announces Promotion of Three Officers
South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka announces the promotion of three officers within the South Brunswick Police Department.
Promoted are Lieutenant Raymond McCarthy, Sergeant Gagan Chopra, and Sergeant Monica Posteraro.
Lieutenant McCarthy is a 13-year veteran of the department and currently serves as the Domestic Violence Liaison, Domestic Violence Response Team Coordinator, and as a member of the Elderly Abuse and Exploitation Task Force. He has held various assignments within the Patrol Division, including Field Training Officer, and achieved the highest score on the most recent Lieutenant’s exam. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rowan University and a Master’s degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Sergeant Chopra is a 16-year veteran and currently serves as a Patrolman First Class. Throughout his career, he has taken on several specialized roles, including Field Training Officer, Evidence Technician, Alcotest Operator, and Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Kean University and a Master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Sergeant Posteraro is a 23-year veteran of the department and has spent the past 11 years assigned to the Detective Bureau, including three years as a Task Force Officer with the DEA. She has also served as a patrol officer and Public Safety Telecommunicator. Her specialized roles have included Field Training Officer, Evidence Technician, Humane Law Enforcement Officer, and Task Force Officer with the Middlesex County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. She holds an Associate’s degree from DeVry University and will be assigned as a Patrol Division supervisor.
