Janesville Police Department Executes Search Warrant Following Child Exploitation Investigation.
On April 24, 2026, the Janesville Police Department executed a search warrant in the 400 block of South Parker Drive as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of child exploitation.
In April 2026, Detective Winiarski received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The Janesville Police Department is an active member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, an international network of law enforcement agencies committed to identifying, locating, and apprehending individuals involved in technology‑facilitated child sexual exploitation and related internet crimes.
During the execution of the search warrant, ESD K9 Maui (an electronic storage detection canine) was deployed to assist investigators in locating hidden or concealed electronic devices within the residence. Numerous electronic items were recovered as evidence.
As a result of the investigation, Kavion Currie was arrested on five counts of possession/distribution of child pornography, as well as a probation violation. Currie was transported to the Rock County Jail, where he is currently being held pending his initial court appearance.
