Robbery Arrest
On 04/26/2026 at 3:00 PM SVPD Officers responded to the 76 Gas Station, located at 2605 Stearns St. for a “Panic Alarm.” Officers arrived at the location and were advised by the female clerk that a male subject entered the store, grabbed the female clerk by her neck, struck her in the face, and stole a pack of cigarettes before fleeing the store. The clerk provided the subject’s description to the officers and advised that he ran north on Stearns St. towards the Indian Hills Golf Course. A perimeter was established and the subject, a 16-year-old juvenile from Thousand Oaks, was located running west on Alamo St. Officers caught up with the subject and he was ultimately taken into custody without incident.
During the investigation it was found that the same juvenile subject, earlier on in the day had stolen a package from a neighboring residence. The homeowner reviewed his Ring camera footage and found the subject as he was fleeing from the gas station. The homeowner confronted the juvenile and the juvenile reached into a bag that he was holding and told the homeowner that he would “shoot” him if he didn’t leave him alone. Based on the statement from the juvenile, the homeowner, in fear of his life, let the juvenile run away.
At the conclusion, the juvenile was lodged at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center for the following charges.
211PC- Robbery
422 PC- Criminal Threats
484PC- Petty Theft
148PC- Delaying/Obstructing an Officer.
