* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southeastern Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas... Northwestern Newton County in southwestern Missouri... Southern Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 1115 PM CDT.

* At 1037 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Webb City to Baxter Springs, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Carl Junction, Baxter Springs, Galena, Oronogo, Carterville, Duquesne, Sarcoxie, Duenweg, Diamond, Loma Linda, Airport Drive, Leawood, Lowell, Silver Creek, Alba, Purcell, and Shoal Creek Drive. This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 0 and 29.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CHEROKEE, KS ... JASPER, MO ... NEWTON, MO

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
