Traffic Speed Enforcement Campaign – May 2026
Starting May 1 st, 2026, the Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety will conduct a Traffic / Speed Enforcement Campaign throughout May to address ongoing speeding concerns and improve roadway safety.
Officers will increase patrols and conduct targeted enforcement in areas where speeding has been identified as a problem, including residential neighborhoods, school zones, and major roadways. Enforcement will focus on reducing excessive speeds and improving driver compliance with posted speed limits.
Speeding significantly reduces a driver’s ability to react and increases the likelihood and severity of crashes. Enforcement during this campaign is intended to reduce dangerous driving behavior and prevent injuries.
Motorists are reminded to:
Obey all posted speed limits
Use caution in residential areas and school zones
Allow adequate travel time
Remain alert and attentive while driving
Residents should expect an increased police presence throughout the month. This initiative is focused on both enforcement and voluntary compliance to improve overall traffic safety.
The Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety appreciates the public’s cooperation.
