Lieutenant David Jones with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 58-year-old Allen Eugene Edwards, of Nebo, with felony Possession of Methamphetamine and misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana (up to ½ ounce). He was issued a secured bond of $16,000.
On Friday, April 24, Lt. Jones initiated a stop on a moped for a traffic violation. Edwards was the driver. Lt. Jones discovered that Edwards had an active warrant for his arrest and was operating the moped with a fictious plate.
A subsequent search of his person turned up suspected amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana.
