INCIDENT: PC 664/211 - Attempted Robbery
LOCATION: 1500 block of Hospitality Lane, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Eric Smith, 59-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at approximately 10:05 a.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Hospitality Lane in reference to an attempted robbery that just occurred.
During the preliminary investigation, a suspect entered the business wearing a blue shirt, blue pants, a black face mask, and a red backpack. Upon entering the business, the suspect approached the checkout area, made verbal demands for money, and struck the countertop near the cash register. The employee feared for their safety however, the suspect exited the store before any money or property could be surrendered.
Officers immediately conducted an area search and located a subject matching the suspect's description near the intersection of W Broadway Street and D Street a short time later. The suspect was detained without further incident. This investigation is ongoing.
