Register for Federal Aid - FEMA & SBA

Oahu residents impacted by Kona Low storms who experienced damage or personal property losses between March 10 to March 24 are encouraged to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) aid as soon as possible. Aid is available to homeowners and renters to help repair primary residences and replace personal property. The application deadline for these programs is June 14, 2026.

FEMA Assistance for Homeowners and Renters

Who Should Apply: Individuals and families who sustained damages to their primary residence that are not covered by insurance.

Types of Assistance FEMA Can Provide: FEMA assistance can include funds for immediate needs (food, water, medicine), rental assistance, essential repairs to make homes habitable, and reimbursement for expenses like childcare, transportation, and medical costs.

Deadline for Applying: June 14, 2026.

How to Apply for FEMA Aid: FEMA requires its own application for aid. You must complete a FEMA application even if you have submitted an application or given your name to other programs.

  • In-Person: FEMA representatives are available to assist at locations across Oahu. Find a list of locations at oneoahu.org/help

SBA Disaster Loans for Homeowners and Renters

Who Should Apply: Homeowners and renters who sustained damage to their property or belongings that need repair or replacement.

Types of Assistance SBA Can Provide: Home Disaster Loans can be used to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate and personal property, including automobiles. Loans can also be used to make property improvements that eliminate future damage or can save lives.

Deadline for Applying: June 14, 2026.

How to Apply for SBA Home Disaster Loans: SBA requires its own application for aid. You must complete an SBA application even if you have submitted an application or given your name to other programs.

  • Online: sba.gov/disaster
  • Call: 1-800-659-2955
  • In-Person: Call SBA customer service at 1-800-659-2955 to find an SBA location on Oahu to get in-person assistance from SBA staff.
