Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Accreditation Assessment Team Invites Public Comment

A team of assessors from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) will conduct a comprehensive on-site assessment of the Gloucester Township Police Department as part of its reaccreditation process through the New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (LEAP). The assessment will evaluate all aspects of the agency, including its policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.

As part of this process, the assessment team will review the department’s Public Safety Emergency Communications Center on May 6, 2026, at 8:00 AM. The team will return on May 8, 2026, at 8:00 AM to evaluate the department’s overall operations and compliance with agency-wide standards, Chief Anthony M. Minosse announced.

As part of the on-site assessments, employees and members of the general public are invited to provide comments to the assessment team by telephone or email.

The public may call 856-228-4000 Ext. 5562 on May 6, 2026, between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM regarding the Public Safety Emergency Communications Center, and on May 8, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM regarding the department’s overall operations and accreditation standards.

Email comments may be sent to [email protected]. Telephone comments are limited to five minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with NJSACOP standards. For more information about the standards, please contact Deputy Chief John Stollsteimer at 856-374- 3539.

The Accreditation Program Director for the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police is Mr. Harry J. Delgado, Ed.S.

“The assessment team is composed of law enforcement practitioners from similar New Jersey agencies. Assessors will review written materials, interview agency members, and visit offices and other locations where compliance with standards can be observed. Once the assessors complete their review, they will report to the full Commission, which will determine whether the agency will be granted accredited status,” stated Mr. Delgado.

Accreditation is valid for a three-year period, during which time the agency must submit annual reports attesting to continued compliance with the standards under which it was initially accredited.

The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, through its New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission, administers the New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (LEAP) and serves as the accrediting authority in the State of New Jersey.
