Narrative:

On 04/11/26, at approximately 1620 hours, deputies assigned to the Moorpark Police Department patrol services responded to TJ Maxx located at 808 Los Angeles Avenue reference a theft. Deputies arrived on scene and contacted a customer who witnessed a female exit the store with multiple items without paying. Employees were contacted who confirmed a grand theft had occurred. Deputies learned the female had worked with two other individuals to commit the theft resulting in a loss over $950.                            .

The case was handed over to detectives with the Moorpark Investigations Unit. With the information collected by deputies on patrol, coupled with utilizing law enforcement databases, detectives were able to identify Marquise Marshall, Darius King and Nijah Crenshaw as the individuals responsible for the grand theft.

With the help of the Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force, it was learned that Marshall, King, and Crenshaw were also working alongside Kayla Myers. The group was associated with multiple retail thefts throughout Ventura County and Los Angeles County. Detectives discovered the group was responsible for approximately eight thousand dollars in loss to retail businesses during the month of April 2026.

Detectives learned the group resided along the 1500 Block of Campus Park Drive, Moorpark, CA.  On 04/24/2026, Marshall and King were located in the City of Los Angeles where they were taken into custody following the investigation. That same day, a residential search warrant was executed at the residence, on Campus Park Drive, where Myers was taken into custody.

During the search warrant service, detectives located evidence connecting the group to the retail thefts. Detectives were able to recover approximately five thousand dollars’ worth of stolen merchandise.

King, Marshall and Myers were arrested for several counts of California Penal Code 490.4 - Organized Retail Theft and California Penal Code 182 - Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. All three remain in jail and are awaiting their court date. A warrant for Crenshaw’s arrest was later requested since she was not present at the location during the search warrant.

The Moorpark Police would like to thank the citizens and businesses throughout Moorpark for their assistance. With the collaboration and trust from the public, crimes continue to be solved, allowing the judicial system to hold those responsible accountable for the crimes.
