Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on May 2, 2026, at approximately 9:20pm, Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on M-40 in Porter Township, Cass County, Michigan.
The investigation shows that Elizabeth Weber, (65 yrs old of Edwardsburg, MI) was traveling Northbound on M-40, when a herd of deer entered into the roadway, causing Weber to collide with one of them. Three other passengers were present in the vehicle at the time of the accident, Lizabeth Armstong (38yrs old of Edwardsburg) as well as two children. All occupants of the vehicle were transported to Beacon Hospital in Three Rivers by SEPSA Ambulance Service for injuries sustained in the accident.
Assisting Agencies in this crash were SEPSA Ambulance Service and Newberg Fire Department.
This crash remains under investigation.
