Burn Ban Lifted Effective 8:00 AM Today
The North Carolina Forest Service has officially lifted the burn ban for McDowell County effective at 8:00 AM today.
Dry fuels and changing weather conditions can still lead to rapidly spreading fires. All local and state regulations regarding open burning remain in effect.
Residents are reminded to never leave fires unattended and to ensure all fires are fully extinguished before leaving the area. Anyone conducting outdoor burning should monitor conditions closely.
To report a wildfire or any out-of-control fire, dial 911 immediately.
