Burning on the City of Galax 
The city of Galax will resume issuing burn permits for burning in the city. With the conclusion of the 4:00 p.m. burn law as well as receiving rainfall, permits will once again be issued.
1. Always get a burn permit if burning in the city.
2. Always call 276-236-8101 before igniting a fire anywhere in Galax Carroll or Grayson to prevent false alarms.
3. Keep your burn piles small.
4. Keep your burn piles limited to yard debris. No garbage, tires, or unpermitted items.
5. Please do not burn if it is particularly dry, windy, or calling for increased winds.
6. Please burn when the wind will not carry smoke into your neighbor's homes.
7. Please keep a water hose or bucket of water close by in case the fire jumps your containment area.
8. It is state law that you remain with your burn at all times.
